Plan A: Women Empowered was an event created by MPACT Events dedicated to showcasing women in film. The campaign consisted of multiple Instagram posts including a Valentine’s Day special ticket price & notification to live stream the event (which attracted over 200 viewers). In addition, IG stories were conceptualized as well as headers for Twitter and LinkedIn. The clients wanted something that exuded a ‘Playbill’ look. Researching the aesthetics of theatre publication design led me to discover that the use of dynamic colors, giant sans serif fonts, and cut-outs were prominent. The event sold out and even oversold tickets.
In addition to a redesign of the flyer MPACT needed a new social media campaign to promote Women Empowered. They decided that they wanted to go for a theatrical look for the posts and banners. A campaign that exuded an aesthetic reminiscent of “Playbill”. Previous Women in Film series had very little social media advertisements; only Instagram posts and word of mouth.
Researching the aesthetics of theatre publication design led me to discover that the use of dynamic colors, giant sans serif fonts, and cutouts were prominent. Create social media advertisements for each platform that MPACT occupies.
The redesign and that resulted in more likes on Instagram which then turned into a sold-out event. Which resulted in having to make more room for those purchasing tickets last minute. Thanks to the success of Women Empowered MPACT gained sponsorship with Winc wines, Story Data, MVMT watches, and catering through Burger IM.
